2003年，HIH POP电影大行其道，《8英里》，《甜心辣舞》（HONEY）等口碑上好的作品都于那年问世！《甜心辣舞》（HONEY）虽然一如既往走的是老套的黑人电影路线，但因为有了“黑暗天使”杰西卡.艾尔芭（Jessica Alba）的全力出演，却又使本片显得与众不同，力量与美丽的完美结合，她给观众诠释了一个有血有肉的HONEY！记得有位网友说过，看着一个平面静止的杰西卡你不能发现她的美丽，只有当她动起来的时候，你才会惊叹于她有多美！

影片的另一个看点就在于导演：比利．伍道夫（Bille Woodruff）——美国流行音乐界最著名的MTV导演之一，多个音乐录影带奖项的获得者。曾有人质疑他是否会将《HONEY》当作一部MTV来拍摄，但显然他的转型和电影的定位都是成功的！
